Science Research Projects Competition
The Science Research Projects Competition aims to encourage young people to engage in research in the basic and applied sciences, open new pathways for students with a passion for science, and help them develop as the “scientists of the future.” The competition contributes to the development of our students’ independent thinking, creativity, practical scientific skills, and technical abilities.
As a school known as the “School of Science and Leadership,” we are proud to host the Science Research Projects Competition every year.
With a large number of students sharing their projects with us each year, the competition is open to middle school and high school students. This year, we hosted the 21st edition of the competition, bringing together young people with a passion for science.
Eraslan Foundation Inter-High School Debate Tournament
Debate activities, known as the “Game of Leaders,” began at Özel Ege High School in 2012 under the Eraslan Foundation Inter-High School Debate Tournament, with training provided by experts in the field.
Our students have achieved numerous successes at major national tournaments in a very short period of time. The Özel Ege High School Debate Club, guided by our Turkish Language and Literature teachers, has reached the finals of numerous tournaments with different teams and has won first-place awards.
As with all of our other institutional competitions, Özel Ege students do not participate in the evaluation process of the Debate Tournament. Accordingly, in line with the decision of the Tournament Executive Committee, Özel Ege High School students participate in the tournament as a “shadow team” and are not included in the final rankings.
“Günaydın Edebiyat” Short Story, Poetry & Fairy Tale Writing Competition
The “Günaydın Edebiyat” Short Story, Poetry & Fairy Tale Writing Competition aims to bring human values to the forefront through literature, foster a positive and lasting sense of social responsibility among young people, develop awareness of effective spoken and written Turkish, and encourage the accurate and effective use of language.
The competition is open to middle school and high school students, with a large number of students sharing their literary works with us each year. In 2026, we held the 23rd edition of the competition, bringing together young aspiring writers.
Inter-School Mathematics Competition
This year, we were proud to organize the 23rd edition of the Inter-School Mathematics Competition.
The Inter-School Mathematics Competition focuses on mathematics, which forms the foundation of all scientific disciplines and academic fields. The competition aims to identify young people with the potential to pursue advanced studies in mathematics, strengthen the competitive skills of talented students in this field, and, most importantly, foster a greater appreciation for mathematics.
Open to students in Grades 6, 7, and 8 of middle school and Grades 9, 10, and 11 of high school, the competition attracts hundreds of students each year from cities across Türkiye, from east to west and north to south.
University Day
The Özel Ege High School University Day is organized annually to help students preparing to transition from secondary to higher education gain a closer understanding of universities and their academic programs and to support them in making informed career choices.
University Day brings together numerous prestigious universities from Türkiye, as well as universities from abroad. Representatives of these institutions meet with hundreds of students at our school who are preparing for higher education.
As one of the longstanding traditions of Özel Ege Lisesi, University Day provides Özel Ege students, along with students from Anatolian and science high schools in İzmir, with the opportunity to meet university representatives and academics who introduce the higher education systems of universities in Türkiye and around the world.
Early Childhood Education Workshop
The Early Childhood Education Workshop, one of Özel Ege’s longstanding educational traditions, brings educators and parents together each year with expert speakers to explore a variety of topics in early childhood education.
